Plasmochemical Laboratory

We are engaged in the generation, diagnostics and applications of plasma in gaseous mixtures and liquids, at both atmospheric and reduced pressure.

The Plasmochemistry Group focuses on issues concerning the generation of different types of plasma, including diagnostics and potential applications. We are able to construct a suitable plasmatic device, characterize its properties and test its usability as a solution to an assigned problem. Target applications are in particular the surface treatment of materials, including evaluating their impact on new properties and chemical processes in gases and liquids.

We offer the following:

  • Constructing turn-key plasma reactors
  • Diagnostics and characterization of plasmochemical processes
  • Evaluation of emission spectra
  • Surface treatment of materials (polymers, textiles, natural fibres) in order to improve their hydrophilicity, adhesion, imprintability, adhesiveness
  • Measuring surface properties (contact angle method before and after finishing the surface)
  • Analysis of surface morphology using microscopes (AFM, confocal LCSM)
  • Testing adhesion on finished materials (PeelTest, PullOut Test, ScratchTest, strength of glue-joints)
  • Deposition of thin layers
  • Reduction and removal of corrosion in plasma
  • Ozone-finishing
  • Degradation of materials using plasma in both gaseous and liquid phase, including their analysis
  • Sterilisation with plasma
  • Simulation of kinetic processes in plasma
