Departments of the faculty

Research group STRaDe (Security Technology Research and Development) is part of the Department of Intelligent Systems at the Faculty of Information Technology at the Brno University of Technology. The main goal of STRaDe is research and development of security technologies and that is both – hardware and software.

Group deals with the theory, SW / HW implementation and application of bio-inspired computing systems, especially those based on evolutionary algorithms and cellular automata.

Research activities of Department of computer systems includes embedded systems, specification and design of computer-based systems, reconfigurable systems, adaptive systems, diagnostics and testing of digital systems and bio-inspired computing systems.

Research activities of the department are mainly on Intelligent Systems but attention is also paid to systems for specific applications and computer-based systems, interface design and the use of multilevel parallelism. Other areas of interest are the integration of components into embedded applications, simulation and prototyping of different configurations, and formal specification and verification of the design.

We focus on database technology, design and implementation of information systems, management (not only) software projects, theory of formal languages, automata and compiler, process management and project management and market research in the field of information products. We have experience with the technology used in e-learning. We offer development tools compilers or architectural modeling.

The research activities of the institute are mainly focused on general computer graphics algorithms and imaging algorithms, processing and recognition of speech signals, animation and rendering of complex scenes, modern methods of human-computer interaction, image and signal processing, processing of medical data, and their proper interpretation.
